FUN STUFF
Other Projects and Creative things...
One-off commissions, making, mending, upcycling and more!
Dino Fun...

A wonderful dinosaur company needed skin decoration for their latest pet Megalosaurus.
Plus a pedicure & new paint for a hard working T-rex.
It was SO MUCH FUN painting these giant creatures!
This one stands higher than a car & is longer too...
I had to climb a ladder to paint the head !
Hands (claws?) before and during painting
The feet showed wear and UV bleaching, so a few layers of colour were needed for a freshen up.
Tower of London Poppies
Artists Paul Cummins and Tom Piper, created 888,246 ceramic poppies which filled the Tower's famous moat between July and November 2014. Each poppy represented a British military fatality during the war.Â
The two seen below were showing age and wear. The centre fixings had come lose and the heavy ceramic flowers no longer stayed up on the stems, which had rusted.
The Poppies in bits awaiting attention
Rust and wear
Sanded and treated stem, new centre fixings, a clean & polish
1950's Sideboard
This beauty has a raised edge around the circles like cushion piping, drawers, and even a drop down drinks cabinet.
I chose a teal finish with a slight sheen to make it easier to dust. The circles colour was hand mixed to get it just right. The side panels are hot pink!!
Twice Upcycled Cabinet
This cabinet was made by my Grandfather, many years ago, from bits & bobs of other furniture = upcycle 1.
It has been used as a bedside table for many years - mainly because it can house many, many books.Â
I decided it was time to refresh it... = upcycle 2..!
Well worn, obviously different woods and a bit wonky - but wonderful.Â
I chose not to fill the cracks to keep the character.
It has had all number of oils and whatnot rubbed into the wood over the years, and the detailing was too delicate to sand - so I decided to clean & use a primer sealer
Perfect to hold books for many more years!
Doughnut Galaxy...
The universe is so large - surely somewhere God must have hidden a doughnut shaped galaxy, right???
